VIZIANAGARAM:

Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naidu on Tuesday said that the Centre was making all efforts to establish an Aviation University adjacent to the Bhogapuram international airport, which is expected to be ready within six months.

After reviewing the construction progress, he said that 91.7% of the project works have been completed through the joint efforts of the Union and the State governments.

He shared that the trial run of the first flight would likely take place in December 2025 or January, 2026. Mr. Rammohan Naidu hoped that the airport would spur economic activity, as it was evident with the on-going construction of several star hotels between the Bhogapuram-Vishakhapatnam route.

The minister also said that an aviation university would transform the area into a prominant academic hub.

Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appala Naidu, Bhogapuram MLA Lokam Madhavi, Vizianagaram Collector S.Ramsundar Reddy and others participated in the site review.
