Tu bilkul apun ke jaise hai': Sonam Khan recalls how Govinda helped her in early Bollywood days

Veteran actress Sonam Khan, known for her roles in films like ‘Tridev,’ ‘Aakhri Ghulam,’ and ‘Vishwatma,’ recently took a nostalgic turn as she remembered her early days in Bollywood.

The actress, who shared screen space with superstar Govinda in several popular films, looked back on their beautiful on-screen chemistry and the friendship they shared off camera.

Taking to Instagram, Sonam Khan shared an emotional post dedicated to her former co-star Govinda. She uploaded a vintage photo of the two striking a pose together, capturing the charm of their early film days. In her caption, Sonam poured her heart out, writing, “Govinda ji often used to tell me, ‘Tu bilkul apun ke jaise hai.’

I think it was because we both came from very humble beginnings. We did numerous movies together, and I still remember how he would hold my hand and make me dance, much to the irritation of the dance masters, who had little patience for a newcomer like me.

”

She further added, “At that time, I had signed over 30 films but couldn’t dance to save my life… Yet, our dear Govinda Sir would always help me at shoots and teach me the steps before every take.

The most humble co-actor I’ve ever worked with remains the one and only, irreplaceable @govinda_herono1.”

Sonam Khan has praised Govinda before

This isn’t the first time Sonam Khan has spoken warmly about Govinda’s generosity and talent. In a past interview with News18, Sonam shared how Govinda was instrumental in teaching her dance. She described him as patient, kind, and always protective of her during tough shoots. Remembering the shoot of their song ‘O Janam Meri Sonam’, Sonam shared how Govinda held her hand and assured her he would teach her himself.
