Two chain snatchers arrested; stolen gold ornaments worth ₹4 lakh recovered in Anantapur

Two chain snatchers were arrested and ₹4 lakh worth stolen gold ornaments recovered from them, on Tuesday. The accused were identified as K. Nagarjuna alias Nagarjuna Reddy alias Chinna of Anantapur and B. Varaprasad alias Prasadu of Kadiri.

An auto driver, Nagarjuna, along with his childhood friend Prasad, committed chain snatching to meet their expenses, according to the police. On June 21, while two women were travelling on a two-wheeler, the duo followed them and told them that the rear wheel of the vehicle they were driving had gotten deflated. When they stopped the vehicle to check, the accused snatched the gold ornaments of one of the woman and fled.

The duo were caught at RTC bus stand and the stolen ornaments recovered from them.
