Two Maoists Arrested in Jamshedpur with Massive Cache of Arms and Ammunition

Jamshedpur: Two Maoists, who were allegedly involved in blowing up a culvert in Saranda forest, were arrested by security forces on Friday. A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also confiscated in West Singhbhum, police said on Saturday.SP Amit Renu said, “The arrested ultras were identified as Vikas Lomga alias Rapa Lomga (20) and Albert Lomga alias Renga Lomga (19). They were wanted for allegedly blowing up a culvert at Rakhamati village under the Chotanagra police station limits on the intervening night of October 9 and 10.”A total of 22 pieces of batteries of nine volts and a 200-mt electric wire were seized from them, police added.“We have got leads from the arrested rebels about the ultras involved in the violence perpetuated in Saranda in the recent days and will apprehend them or eliminate them soon,” the SP said.Meanwhile, arms and ammunitions hidden in the dense forest under the Jetiya police station limits by Maoists were recovered by the forces in another anti-Naxal operation on Friday. An INSAS rifle, 198 cartridges of 5.5mm bore, 112 cartridges of 7.62mm bore, 134 cartridges of .303 bore, four INSAS magazines, two 7.62mm SLR magazines, and two magazines of .303 rifle were seized.The CRPF, the CoBRA, and the Jharkhand Jaguar were part of the combing operation, which is underway in the Saranda forest.
