Tragedy struck Madhubani's Laheriyaganj Musahari Dalit Tola as a violent stabbing attack late Sunday night claimed two lives and left two injured. An intoxicated assailant, identified as Rahul Kumar Yadav, allegedly launched indiscriminate attacks with a large knife. Deepak Saday (15) and Rambabu Saday (21) succumbed to their injuries.
Madhubani: A violent stabbing attack in Laheriyaganj Musahari Dalit Tola area of Madhubani town claimed lives of two people late Sunday night, while two others sustained injuries and are receiving treatment.The deceased have been identified as Deepak Saday (15) and Rambabu Saday (21). Among the injured, Lal Babu Saday is reported to be in a critical condition and is undergoing treatment at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).According to eyewitness, the incident occurred around 10.30pm on Sunday when an intoxicated assailant, armed with a large knife, launched indiscriminate attacks on residents of the Dalit Tola.
Those who attempted to intervene were also stabbed, resulting in multiple injuries.Deepak and Rambabu, who were stabbed in their abdomens, collapsed on the spot. Locals rushed them to sadar hospital in Madhubani, where doctors, assessing their severe condition, referred them to the DMCH, Darbhanga, during the night. Both succumbed to their injuries there.Police from Town police station responded promptly and visited the hospital and the crime scene for investigation.
Madhubani superintendent of police (SP) Yogendra Kumar said the attacker has been identified as Rahul Kumar Yadav, a resident of Jhonjhi village under Arer police station jurisdiction. Raids are underway to apprehend him, he said.The motive behind the attack remains unclear at this stage. Authorities are continuing their probe into the matter.
