Two women killed, one injured in Moinabad road accident

Two women were killed while another sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a scooter and an SUV in Moinabad on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Susheela, 60, and Ashwini, 30. Lakshmi, who was also on the scooter, survived the crash with injuries, and is undergoing treatment.

The incident was reported around 11.30 a.m. on an internal road near Reddypalli village in Moinabad, when a speeding SUV rammed into a scooter. The impact of the collision flung the riders off the two-wheeler.

According to police, Ashwini and Lakshmi were on the scooter and offered a lift to Susheela. None of them were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. The SUV driver fled the spot, leaving the vehicle behind.

Moinabad police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the absconding driver. The abandoned car has been seized.
