According to Miami Herald’s NBA beat writer Anthony Chiang, Tyler Herro would be undergoing foot surgery and miss the beginning of the 2025-26 NBA season.

With the 2025-26 NBA season gradually moving towards training camp, Miami Heat suffered a major setback. Heat’s guard Tyler Herro would be missing the beginning of the 2025-26 NBA season. Reportedly, he is supposed to undergo foot surgery. With Herro and Miami Heat already facing a contract extension issue, a prominent NBA insider provided a major update on his health condition. According to Miami Herald’s Anthony Chiang’s post on x, “Multiple sources confirm that Heat guard Tyler Herro is undergoing surgery on his left foot/ankle today.

Herro won't be available for the start of the season.”

His post further mentioned, “This ankle/foot impingement has been bothering Herro since the middle of the summer. Herro received PRP and cortisone injections in recent weeks in hopes of avoiding surgery, but the discomfort never subsided, and surgery was deemed necessary to avoid more issues down the road.”ESPN’s prominent NBA insider Shams Charania even updated Tyler Herro on his Instagram handle.

The 25-year-old NBA star, Tyler Herro, has been bothered by his ankle and foot issues since the summer off-season. The Boy Wonder, as he is popularly known, Tyler Herro is coming off his best season in the NBA with an average of 23.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.
