An MBBS student at Pacific Dental College in Udaipur died by suicide in her hostel room on Thursday night, with a note recovered from the scene alleging mental harassment by college staff. The incident led to protests on campus, with students accusing the administration of unfair practices and demanding action.

According to police, the student was found hanging in her room by her roommate around 11 pm and was immediately taken to a hospital, where she was declared dead.

A handwritten note found at the location accuses staff members of the college of harassment, citing irregularities in exam schedules, arbitrary failure of students, and repeated monetary demands. The note also claims that students who are unable to pay face targeted pressure from the administration.

Following the incident, a video surfaced showing students staging a protest outside the college gate, raising slogans and calling for justice. Students blocked the main entrance and sat on a dharna, demanding action against specific members of the staff named in the note. They alleged that the administration creates pressure over attendance and examinations, leading to distress among students.

Police from Sukher station reached the spot and tried to disperse the protest, but students continued to demand justice for the victim. The case is currently under investigation.
