A bone found in a vegetarian biryani pack from a roadside stall in Ghaziabad has caused public outrage and police intervention. The incident has raised serious concerns about food safety and vendor transparency in the area.

A video capturing the confrontation with the vendor quickly went viral, amplifying public anger.
A bone found in a vegetarian biryani pack at a roadside stall in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad has sparked outrage among locals and led to police action against the vendor.
According to the complainant, Anil Sharma, he purchased a vegetarian biryani from a cart operating under the name “RK Biryani” near Neelam Factory. The food was taken home, but when family members began eating, a bone was discovered in the dish. Sharma returned to the stall with the pack, where the vendor allegedly admitted the mistake.
The family has alleged that the stall’s branding and the online payment QR code were misleading. While the cart carried the name “RK Biryani”, the QR code showed “Rahul”, and the vendor was later identified as Rashid, from the Muslim community. Sharma said the discrepancy led the family to believe the food was vegetarian.
“We bought it thinking it was vegetarian, but a bone came out while eating. The name and identification created confusion,” the family said.
A video capturing the confrontation with the vendor quickly went viral, amplifying public anger. Locals said similar food-related disputes had occurred earlier in different parts of Ghaziabad. Some previous incidents included allegations of unhygienic practices, adulteration of beverages, and even a case of urine being added to juice, which had sparked widespread protests.
Residents are now demanding stricter regulation and accountability for roadside food vendors to prevent such incidents.
Police confirmed that a written complaint was received and an FIR has been registered under relevant sections. The vendor has been taken into custody, and investigation is underway.
“The case will be thoroughly examined before any conclusion is reached. Action will be taken as per law if the allegations are found true,” a police official said.
