UP Weather Forecast: Dark clouds are set to return to Uttar Pradesh, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting an increase in monsoon cloud activity across both eastern and western divisions of the state on August 20. This is expected to bring light rainfall and a noticeable drop in maximum temperatures.

Temperatures May Fall By Up To 5°C

According to the IMD, the maximum temperature may decrease by up to 5 degree Celsius over the next three days. The eastern region of the state is particularly likely to experience rainfall, bringing much-needed relief from the heat.

75 Districts To See Cloud Cover

The Amausi Centre of the IMD in Lucknow, UP, reports that cloud cover is expected over 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. However, eastern UP districts, notably Varanasi, along with Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Bhadohi, Prayagraj, and Pratapgarh, are most likely to receive light to moderate rain.

Rainfall Likely In Key Cities

Additional districts including Gorakhpur, Basti, Ayodhya, Gonda, Lakhimpur Kheri, Rampur, Bareilly, Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Jhansi, and Lalitpur are also expected to receive light rainfall.

Both Lucknow and Kanpur will see increased cloud activity, with a chance of showers in Lucknow. In Kanpur, clouds may appear by the evening, although no significant temperature change is expected there.

Noida And Ghaziabad Forecast

In Noida, normal weather is anticipated on Wednesday, with intermittent cloud movement. Ghaziabad is likely to witness similar conditions, though increased cloud activity is forecast from Thursday onwards.

According to Professor Manoj Kumar Srivastava, a meteorologist, substantial rainfall could occur across the state on August 21, potentially resulting in a 3°C to 5°C drop in maximum temperatures statewide.
