US-Iran War News Today LIVE Updates: The United States and Iran have agreed to a peace deal and an “immediate and permanent” end to military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, signaling the apparent end of more than three months of conflict in the Middle East.

The breakthrough was first announced by Pakistan, which mediated the negotiations, and was later confirmed by both Washington and Tehran. An official signing ceremony is scheduled to take place in Switzerland on June 19.

US President Donald Trump announced the agreement on Truth Social on Sunday, saying, “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete.”

Trump also said the United States would lift its naval blockade and allow the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route.

“I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” he wrote.

Iran also confirmed the agreement, with Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi saying the deal brought an “immediate end” to the war and that both sides would hold talks within two months aimed at reaching a final settlement.

Details of the agreement have not been officially released. However, Iran’s Mehr news agency reported that the United States would release $12 billion in frozen Iranian assets before formal negotiations begin.

It also cited a 14-point memorandum of understanding between the two countries, under which a total of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets could be released during a 60-day negotiation period following the signing of the agreement.
