In a significant breakthrough, the United States and Iran have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the ongoing war. The document was signed by US President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad ​Bagher Ghalibaf, a senior US official told Reuters.

The official also said the details of the agreement would be released within the next 24-48 hours, and technical discussions would be launched later in the week. The deal provides for an immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz and lifting of the US blockade on Iran.
