President Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, is set to make her LPGA Tour debut next month before she heads to the University of Miami to play college golf. She has received a sponsor exemption to participate in The Annika at Pelican Golf Club from November 13-16, an event known for attracting one of the strongest fields outside of the majors.
“I have always dreamt of competing with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour," Trump stated in a release. “This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward to meeting and competing against many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut."
Kai Trump, the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr., is currently a senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach County and has committed to play for the Miami Hurricanes next year. She competes nationally in amateur events with the American Junior Golf Association and locally in Florida.
Ranked No. 461 in the AJGA Girls rankings, Trump has participated in three events this year. She has a substantial social media presence with over 6 million combined followers across four platforms and has recently launched an apparel and lifestyle brand focused on empowering young women in sports.
“Sponsor invitations are crucial for highlighting emerging talent and bringing new attention to our tournaments and the LPGA," commented Ricki Lasky, the LPGA’s chief tour business and operations officer. “Kai’s wide-reaching influence is helping to introduce golf to new audiences, especially younger fans. We’re excited to see her take this next step in her journey."
The Annika event has also announced that WNBA star Caitlin Clark will return to play in the pro-am on November 12 for the second consecutive year. Nelly Korda is the defending champion.
