 It took me almost eight years to get my first lead role

Vaidehi Nair, who started acting at 12, has finally landed her first lead role in 'Humari Radha' after an eight-year journey of auditions and dedication. She reflects on the immense patience and persistence required, feeling immense pride in achieving her long-held dream. Balancing her acting career with academics, particularly fashion design, has instilled significant discipline, with her mother being a crucial support system throughout.

Vaidehi Nair, who began her career as a child artiste at the age of 12, says it took nearly eight years of auditions, training and persistence before she landed her first lead role on television.“This is my first time playing a lead on television in the show Humari Radha, and it feels incredibly special,” she says. “The journey to this moment has taken nearly eight years of hard work, patience and unwavering faith in my dreams. Standing here as the lead feels surreal and deeply rewarding,” she adds.Reflecting on her journey, Vaidehi says the experience has taught her patience and persistence. “Acting truly is a career that teaches you patience.

It took me almost eight years to get my first lead role, but every experience prepared me for this moment. There were countless auditions, moments of uncertainty and a lot of learning, but I never stopped believing in the process.”She adds that looking back at her younger self makes the achievement more meaningful. “When I think of the 12-year-old girl who started acting with big dreams, I feel she would be proud today.

I’m grateful to finally be living a dream I worked towards for so many years.”Alongside acting, Vaidehi has also balanced academics since she began working professionally in Class 7. Currently studying fashion design, she says managing both worlds has shaped her discipline and focus.“My mother has been my biggest support system. While I was juggling shoots and studies, she would prepare notes, keep me on track and ensure I never fell behind. Her support played a huge role in helping me manage both worlds,” she says.
