Mahesh Babu unveiled as 'Rudhra' in SS Rajamouli's ambitious adventure thriller 'Varanasi'. The grand teaser showcased a globe-trotting narrative with stunning visuals. Babu, riding a mechanical bull and wielding a trident, called the project a 'dream' and 'once-in-a-lifetime' endeavor, promising to make India proud. The film, featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is slated for a 2027 release.
Mahesh Babu was introduced as "Rudhra" in SS Rajamouli's upcoming grand adventure thriller, which is named 'Varanasi'. The title and teaser of the film were magnificently released on Saturday on a large screen.
While fans were raving as the teaser hit the big screen, the lead's entry on stage added stars to the night.
Grand stage entry and mechanical bull stunt
After the teaser of the film was shown to thousands of fans during the event. Mahesh Babu made a special entrance on stage. He was seen riding a mechanical bull similar to his character in the poster and the teaser. He was also seen holding a trident in one hand and keeping an intense look as the electric bull walked on the long ramp.

Mahesh Babu calls 'Varanasi' a 'Dream project'
Later, the actor went on to make a heartfelt speech, calling the movie "a dream project. He described the Varanasi movie as "once in a lifetime project." "This is a dream project, a once-in-a-lifetime project. I will work as hard for it as possible. I will make everyone proud. Most importantly, I'll make my director the most proud. When Varanasi releases, India will be proud of us," he said.
About 'Varanasi'
Speaking about 'Varanasi', the film is described as a globe-trotting adventure set in the lush jungles of the Amazon and parts of Africa. The cast also includes Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Mandakini and Prithviraj Sukumaran as Kumbha. The music composition is by MM Keeravaani.

The teaser has some impact and grand visuals. It includes lush jungle landscapes, suggesting the film's globe-trotting adventure theme.
