Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) president G.K. Vasan on Wednesday urged the Tamil Nadu government to promptly fill the vacant posts of teachers and officers in government departments to ensure the seamless execution of various welfare schemes and services provided by the Centre and the State government.

In a statement, Mr. Vasan said that the State government was yet to fill vacancies that opened after teachers and several employees from various departments retired on May 31. He said that several lakh postings in government departments remain vacant. As of April 2025, there were nearly 31.84 lakh graduates registered with employment offices across Tamil Nadu, seeking jobs. Further, several thousand graduates who wrote competitive exams have been waiting for their results.

Considering this, the State government should immediately fill all vacancies in government departments without delay. Further, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) and other recruitment boards should release exam results on time and ensure that appointments are made promptly, Mr. Vasan said.
