Tributes were paid to former Minister Bijivemula Veera Reddy on his 25th death anniversary at Badvel constituency in Kadapa district, on Thursday. Minister for Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy participated in the event and offered a giant garland to his statue at the four roads circle in Badvel town.
Along with former legislator Kondreddy Vijayamma, TDP constituency in-charge Ritish Kumar Reddy and his spouse Anam Leela Kaivalya, Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy paid respects to Veera Reddy and recalled his services to the cause of farmers. Party leaders also shouted slogans such as ‘Amar Rahe Veera Reddy’ and took out a procession.
The Minister later offered tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary in Nellore and hailed him as a leader worthy of emulation on several aspects. He called him a guiding light to democracy, an icon of good governance and a symbol of clean politics. “He was a leader known for keeping national interest above political interest,” Mr. Reddy said.
Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy also conveyed Christmas greetings and recalled it as a day of love, humanity and compassion.
