The biggest name in the San Antonio Spurs roster is undoubtedly Victor Wembanyama, and he had been making waves in the NBA ever since he made his debut back in 2023. He has been with the Spurs since the beginning, and has shown over and over again that he is a force to be reckoned with.

He has made records, and broken others, and recently joined the elite company of none other than Michael Jordan. Jordan is one of, if not the biggest and greatest athlete in the NBA, and even after his retirement in 2023, more and more players are getting compared to the GOAT. And now it also includes Wembanyama, who has made yet another career record after the Spurs win against the Wizards on December 21.

Victor Wembanyama joins Michael Jordan with new career record

The last game between the San Antonio Spurs and Washington Wizards, saw the host team lose to Victor Wembanyama and his team, 113-124.

The athlete managed to hit a total of 500 career assists that night during the early minutes of the second quarter. And now, he's one of just two players ever to post 3,000+ points, 500+ assists, and 100+ blocks in their first 135 games.

As anyone would have guessed, the other player is now other than Michael Jordan, who coincidentally, played for the Washington wizards during his second tenure in the NBA from 2001-2003.

What might come as an even bigger surprise is that in terms of blocks, Wembanyama has actually managed to surpass the Chicago Bulls legend. Where Jordan blocked 140 times in 135 games, Wembanyama has managed to get three times the number, 482 blocks so far, at just 21 years of age.

The Spurs are currently on a 21-7 run, only trailing behind reigning champions and the leaderboard toppers - Oklahoma City Thunder (25-3), and the Detroit Pistons (22-6). And as luck would have it, they will be facing the Thunders for their next two games - the first one being later tonight at home, and the next one in Oklahoma City. Fans will have their fingers crossed that Wemby comes up with more magic on the court with the upcoming games. Also Read: Victor Wembanyama starting tonight?
