Video: Car tries to run over students at university; chased, attacked with stones

Maharshi Dayanand University in Haryana's Rohtak witnessed violent clashes after a group of youths allegedly attempted to run over students using a Scorpio SUV inside the campus. According to reports, the vehicle rammed into people at high speed and, after a forceful collision, crashed into a tree, narrowly averting fatalities.

Following the incident, members of a rival group retaliated by pelting stones at the youths travelling in the Scorpio. The situation quickly escalated, with both groups engaging in violent clashes involving sticks and rods across the university premises.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns over security at Maharshi Dayanand University. Locals and students allege that the campus frequently sees the presence of outsiders and unruly elements. Vehicles with blackened windows are often seen roaming freely inside the campus, with allegations of eve-teasing involving female students being common.

This is not the first time the university has witnessed violence. In the past, incidents of open firing between groups have been reported, and a security guard had earlier lost his life after being hit by a vehicle inside the campus.

The latest episode has renewed calls for stricter security measures and tighter monitoring of entry into the university premises.
