Villa, Flats, And Foreign Wedding: Telangana Engineer’s Empire Uncovered In ACB Raid

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana has arrested an Executive Engineer from the Irrigation & CAD Department for allegedly accumulating wealth far beyond his known sources of income.

The case involves Nune Sridhar, posted at Division No.-8, SRSP Camp, Choppadandi in Karimnagar district. He is accused of acquiring assets by “indulging in unlawful practices and dubious means" during his tenure, an official ACB release stated.

The ACB said that Sridhar was previously associated with the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, a massive state infrastructure initiative. Following leads, officials conducted searches at his residence and 13 other locations connected to him and his relatives.

The raids revealed a staggering list of properties and assets. These included one villa at Tellapur, a flat in Shaikpet, three flats in Karimnagar, commercial space in Ameerpet, and independent buildings in Hyderabad, Warangal, and Karimnagar. Authorities also unearthed 16 acres of agricultural land, 19 residential open plots across prime locations, two four-wheelers, gold ornaments, and significant bank deposits.

“The searches revealed that the above Accused Officer has acquired these movable & immovable properties by abusing his official position," the ACB noted, adding that the market value of the seized assets is expected to be significantly higher than their registered value.

The searches are still ongoing. The officer has been taken into custody and is being sent to judicial remand. Further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the illegal wealth amassed during his service.
