NEW DELHI: A light-hearted moment from the Bihar poll campaign has captured attention online, as a video of leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi chatting with a little boy went viral.
The child asked the 55-year-old Congress leader the question many have wondered about: “When are you getting married?” As the video had no audio, the boy informed that Gandhi replied that he’d tie the knot “once he’s done with his job.”“I asked Rahul Gandhi when he would get married, and he replied that he will marry once his work is done,” the boy said.
Gandhi keeps getting questions regarding his marriage with the last one being during a Diwali stop at the Ghantewala sweet shop in Old Delhi when he tried his hand at making traditional sweets.
The shop owner Sushant Jain had playfully wished to see Gandhi married soon, and to bag the order for the wedding sweets too. "All of India is talking about him being the most eligible bachelor. I said, 'Rahul ji, please get married soon -- we're waiting, so that we can get the order for your wedding sweets too,'" he had said.Meanwhile, Bihar recorded a voter turnout of 60.13% in the first phase of the assembly elections as of 5pm, according to data released by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
