VSU student bags national NSS Best Volunteer Award

M. Pruthviraj, a student from the Department of Biotechnology at Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) in Nellore was honoured with the national NSS Best Volunteer Award for his outstanding contributions in social service. He received the award from from the President of India Droupadi Murmu during a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday.

The ceremony was also attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, as well as the NSS representatives from various States. Upon receiving the national award, Pruthviraj said, “This award is not just for me but for the entire NSS unit of VSU. I will continue to work harder in social service, focusing on rural development and the welfare of youth.”

On the occasion, VSU Vice-Chancellor Allam Srinivasarao said, “This is a proud moment for our university. It is remarkable that students are showing dedication not only in their academics but also in social service. Pruthviraj’s achievement in receiving this national award will inspire other young people.”

Meanwhile, VSU Registrar K. Sunitha said, “This national-level honour achieved by Pruthviraj has enhanced the prestige of the university. It is a matter of pride that our students show commitment to social responsibilities along with the academic progress. Youngsters like Pruthviraj are role models for the society.”
