A woman present in the Wimbledon stands to cheer for Carlos Alcaraz has gone viral for her hilarious reaction to the rising tennis ace giving away his autograph. As Alcaraz defeated Jan-Lennard Struff in the third-round singles encounter on Friday, July 4, he made time for his fans present at the edge of the stands and gave away signed shirts, caps and selfies.

A lady, who had asked for the defending champion’s signature on a white cap, lost it completely as Alcaraz obliged and made her day. Later on, during a post-match show, the tennis star wore a big smile on his face while watching a funny clip of the woman in utter shock and disbelief. Thrilled, the woman was nearly left on her haunches after she raised her hands to the large crowd and proudly shared the Alcaraz-signed cap.

When asked to react to the woman’s gleeful expressions and pure emotions for her favourite tennis star, Alcaraz said: “Yeah I saw, I remember (the lady). I couldn’t laugh (initially) because I had to just stay a little serious but I was happy." Alcaraz also said the woman’s reaction made his Wimbledon event, saying he feels delighted to give his fans something to cheer about. “It makes my day, honestly, feels amazing," he added.

Did Carlos Alcaraz Win At Wimbledon?

Having won back-to-back men’s singles event titles at Wimbledon, Alcaraz stepped closer to clinching a third by surpassing Jan-Lennard in a four-set encounter and reaching the Round of 16 at the prestigious event in England. Putting in another valiant performance, the World No.2 defeated his German opponent with 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 and 6-4 scorelines.

The five-time Grand Slam winner started on a terrific note by dominating the first set. Alcaraz also showed his great adaptability by bouncing back from the difficult second set and continuing the momentum from there. Alcaraz’s victory meant that Jan-Lennard’s wait for a Wimbledon title continued, having never progressed past the third round.

Speaking about his win later on, Alcaraz said: “I knew it was going to be difficult. His game is suited pretty well to the grass — big serve — so I tried to put it to the net as much as I could. I’m just proud about getting the win in four sets. It was stressful! To be honest, I was suffering in every service game that I did today. It was stressful; it was about surviving."

The 22-year-old Spaniard now takes on 14th seed Andrey Rublev in the fourth-round Wimbledon clash with a place in the quarterfinals up for grabs on Sunday, July 6.
