Inside Iran’s underground arsenal; rocket launchers, drones stacked

NEW DELHI: Iranian media on Monday released fresh footage showing what it described as an underground drone arsenal, alongside visuals of launches aimed at US and Israeli targets in the region, as tensions escalated following joint military action against Tehran over the weekend.

The video offers a look inside a network of underground tunnels lined with rows of drones mounted on multiple launch systems. The walls of the facility are seen adorned with Iranian flags and large photographs of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The footage was circulated via Telegram and X as Iran continued retaliatory strikes against US allies in the Gulf. Over the weekend, Iranian media reported that Tehran had targeted Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait, Al-Dhafra Air Base in the UAE, and the US Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain.

“It is worth noting that Trump has a long record of spreading false and fabricated news,” the report said.

“Among previous examples of this behavior is his claim about the fall of the city of Mashhad, which was later shown to have no factual basis and to have been merely media sensationalism.”

It also confirmed his death and said the Iranian cabinet had declared 40 days of national mourning and seven days of public holidays. The reports further stated that his daughter, son-in-law and grandchild were among those killed in Saturday’s strikes.
