Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the nation from the Red Fort on Independence Day, said the armed forces were given complete freedom during Operation Sindoor, with the choice of “time, location and date" left entirely to military commanders. “We gave freehand to our forces, we told them forces that time, location and date you will decide," he said, underlining his government’s approach to national security.

Paying tribute to the role of women in India’s history, Modi said, “Our women power has contributed no less to our freedom struggle and the making of our Constitution. To those who framed our Constitution, I bow before them today from the Red Fort."

The Prime Minister also mentioned that India will not bow to nuclear blackmail and will respond firmly to any threat. “We have decided that terrorists, and their friends will not be spared and they will be treated in the same way. We are not going to come under nuclear pressure," Modi asserted.
