West Godavari District Collector orders probe against 17 private hospitals for collecting extra fees under NTR Vaidya Seva Trust

West Godavari District Collector Ch. Nagarani has ordered a probe against 17 private hospitals for allegedly collecting additional fees under NTR Vaidya Seva Trust. 

The district authorities have received complaints against the 17 hospitals, seeking action for collecting fee for the services offered under the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust and registering fake disease profiles for additional charges. 

In a review meeting held with the managements of the 17 hospitals, Medical and Health authorities in Bhimavaram on June 13, Ms. Nagarani said that some of the hospitals have charged fee from the patients for treatment for diseases that are not reported.

“A fine will imposed against the hospitals for charging additional fee for the NTR Vaidya Seva services and further action will be initiated in the case of treating the patients by registering fake disease profile”, said Ms. Nagarani. District Medical and Health Officer G. Geethabai, District Hospital Services Coordinator P. Suryanarayana, NTR Vaidya Seva Trust District Coordinator Kirthi Sravan and representatives of the 17 hospitals were present.
