Tom Brady’s card store in New York City was robbed of almost $10,000 worth of baseball and Pokémon cards, the NYPD said. The robbery happened on October 20, just before noon, at CardVault by Tom Brady, a new shop in SoHo, Manhattan.

Police say a man came into the store and tried to buy items, but his payment was declined. Even after the payment failed, the man somehow tricked the store worker into thinking the sale went through. Then he walked out with $9,710 worth of cards.The SoHo store had opened only a few weeks before this robbery. Tom Brady had even visited the place recently for the grand opening. This made the news big because the shop is owned by one of the most famous names in sports.

The NYPD is now asking the public for help to find the suspect.

He said CardVault is not just about buying cards, but about “curating history” and giving fans a place to enjoy the hobby.The robbery took place at the lower Manhattan store on Lafayette Street. Police say the suspect first acted like a normal shopper.

He picked out baseball and Pokémon cards. When he tried to pay, the payment did not go through. The worker told him this, but the man somehow made the worker believe the payment was complete.
