Amorim remarked that it wouldn't be wise to approach the winter transfer window with a sense of urgency to fill positions at the club, as this could lead to confusion and errors.

Manchester United suffered a 1-2 defeat to Aston Villa in their Premier League match at Villa Park on Sunday, as Morgan Rogers’ double made Matheus Cunha’s goal for United merely a consolation. To make matters worse for Ruben Amorim, United’s captain Bruno Fernandes sustained an injury during the defeat to Unai Emery’s team and is expected to be sidelined for a significant period.
Amorim remarked that it wouldn’t be wise to approach the winter transfer window with a sense of urgency to fill positions at the club, as this could lead to confusion and errors.
“We need to deal with that. What we cannot do is to reach January and try to do everything in urgency and make mistakes and then ‘here we go again’ with a lot of mistakes.
“I’m not going to say ‘we need a lot of players’ because we have a plan. If we have to suffer, the club comes first," the 40-year-old said.
“Of course, we are in a moment where we need points, but we need to find solutions and we are going to continue with our plan," he concluded.
United product Kobbie Mainoo could prove to be a replacement for the star midfielder, but the youngster might also be out of commission for United’s upcoming game against Newcastle.
“I will see what we are going to do," Amorim said.
“I think Kobbie Mainoo is out, Bruno is out, so we will see. We are going to find solutions. No excuses.
“We need to win the next game and we will try to win the next game," he reiterated.
Manchester United, who stand seventh in the English top-flight, have amassed 26 points in 17 games thus far this season with seven wins, five draws and as many defeats in the campaign.
