Back in 2022, Yuvan Shankar Raja shared a moment that felt deeply personal. It wasn’t about fame or milestones; it was about quiet admiration. While celebrating 25 years in the Tamil film industry, the composer revealed an unexpected bond with Thalapathy Vijay’s family. Vijay’s son, Jason Sanjay, turned out to be a genuine fan of Yuvan’s music, and the innocence behind it made the moment unforgettable.
When Yuvan Shankar Raja spoke about Jason Sanjay’s admiration
During a media interaction in Chennai marking his silver jubilee in the industry, Yuvan recalled how the moment reached him. He shared how Vijay made sure the message reached him personally.“Vijay's associate sent a picture of his son [Jason] wearing a T-shirt saying ‘Yuvanism’. I did not know how to react. When I met Vijay later, he said that he had asked his associate to send the photo to me. He revealed that his son was my fan and that he wanted me to know.
I did not share the photo because it is an extremely personal moment.”At the time, Yuvan was celebrating 25 remarkable years in cinema. Over the decades, he had built a loyal fan base with his emotionally rich and experimental music.
Work front
Years later, that emotional connection turned professional. In 2024, Yuvan became the music director for Vijay’s blockbuster The Greatest of All Time (GOAT). Tracks like Whistle Podu and Matta quickly struck a chord with fans and dominated playlists.
Jason, meanwhile, stepped confidently into filmmaking. He recently wrapped up shooting for his directorial debut, Sigma, starring
