Baiju Prafulkumar Bhatt, an Indian-American entrepreneur Baiju and co-founder of fintech platform Robinhood has been named among the 10 youngest billionaires in the United States on the 2025 Forbes 400 list.
At 40, Bhatt is the only person of Indian origin in this group, joining Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Bhatt, 40, has a total net worth of $6.9 billion. Who is Baiju Bhatt
Born into a Gujarati family, Baiju Bhatt is the son of Indian immigrants.
His parents moved to Alabama when his father began a PhD program. Bhatt later grew up in Poquoson, Virginia. A strong student, he studied physics at Stanford University and completed a master’s degree in mathematics in 2008. He went on to co-found Robinhood, the financial technology platform that changed the way people trade stocks.His family faced financial hardships, particularly when his father was diagnosed with kidney failure and had to abandon his PhD.

Baiju Bhatt’s journey with Robinhood
Bhatt co-founded Robinhood in 2013 with Vlad Tenev while studying at Stanford University. The platform was designed to make investing more accessible by eliminating traditional brokerage fees.
He served as co-CEO until 2020, later moving to the role of Chief Creative Officer, and stepped back from daily executive duties in 2024. However, he continues to sit on Robinhood’s board of directors. Robinhood’s rapid growth — including a 400% surge in stock value, record $3 billion revenues in 2024, and expansion into IRAs and high-yield savings accounts — has played a key role in building Bhatt’s fortune, now estimated at $6 billion.
