US sports reporter Christina Chambers and her husband were found dead at their home in Hoover, Alabama, on Tuesday morning. Police said the couple was discovered unresponsive around 9 am local time.
Authorities also confirmed that their infant child was found unharmed at the scene and was safely removed from the home. On its website, WBRC published a tribute titled “WBRC remembers Christina Chambers as ‘spark of joy’ who made everyone better.”
The article stated, “Christina Chambers had a beautiful ability to naturally feel like a friend immediately.” It also noted that when she joined the sports team in 2015, it was made up entirely of men. Her colleague Rick Karle said, “She made sideline better, she made this TV station better, she made everyone in the newsroom better.”WBRC also shared a message on X, writing, “We are absolutely heartbroken to share this news.

Dr. Wayne Vickers released a statement saying, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Christina Chambers.” He added, “Her dedication to them and to her profession was evident in everything she did.”Alabama Senator Katie Britt wrote, “Please join me in keeping Christina’s friends, family, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.” Sports writer Creg Stephenson also shared, “So tragic. I covered Christina as a high school track star… and she was always a delight.”Christina Chambers joined WBRC in 2015 and became a familiar face on ‘Sideline’ every Friday night. She also covered major events like the Mercedes Marathon and even ran the race herself.
