'Why did you sell us a dream?': Indian-origin student praised for tough question to JD Vance, MAGA calls her 'delusional Hindu H-1B invader'

The Indian-origin student who posed the immigration question to JD Vance is going viral.

A student at the Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi went viral as she posed a tough question to Vice President JD Vance on immigration. The woman, believed to be of Indian-origin, questioned the Donald Trump administration's hard stand on stopping foreigners."When you talk about too many immigrants here, when did you guys decide the number? Why did you sell us a dream; you made us spend our youth and wealth in this country and gave us a dream. You don't owe us anything; we have worked hard for it. Then how can you as the VP say that 'we have too many of them now and we are going to take them out' to people who are here rightfully by paying the money that you guys asked us," the woman said. Vance said the US should reduce its lower of level of immigration, respecting people who came to the US through lawful immigration pathways.

"But just because one person, 10 people or 100 people came in legally and contributing to the United States of America, does that mean that we are thereby committed to let in a million or ten million or hundred million people in the future," Vance said adding that what worked for the US decades ago does not work for the country now.

"My job as the vice president of the US is not to look out for the interests of the whole world. It's to look out for the people of the United States," Vance said to a huge applause from the crowd.

The same woman asked Vance about Christianity which led to the major meltdown as Vance happened to comment that he wished that his Indian-origin wife Usha Vance embraced Christianity. The woman received praise on social media for her tough questions but several MAGA handles on social media called her a delusional Hindu H-1B invader. The immigration question was crucial as the administration took several moves to stop the import of foreign workers into the US. The administration imposed a $100,000 fee on H-1B visa programs, stopped automatic extension of Employment Authorization Documents, and Florida moved to ban H-1B hiring in higher education institutions.
