The Cleveland Browns are currently undergoing something exhilarating. Including some well-known names like Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, the Cleveland Browns have several quarterbacks on their roster.
Shedeur Sanders is the buzzname though. He is young, just starting out and was not selected in the early portion of the 2025 NFL Draft but is creating a stir. Coaches have noticed him. Fans are watching closely. Even past football stars are speaking up. After only a few practices, this rookie is starting to make people believe something big is coming.
Shedeur Sanders impresses Cleveland Browns coaches and gets support from team legend
Shedeur Sanders came from the University of Colorado and was chosen by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 Draft.
Most thought he’d need time to adjust. But his work at the team’s practices in June said otherwise. He looked sharp, focused, and confident. His throws were clean. He stayed calm even under pressure.
On June 14, during minicamp in Berea, Ohio, Shedeur had a strong showing. Former Cleveland Browns player Hanford Dixon watched closely. He later said, “I think before long, Shedeur is going to show everybody that he is the man.”
That statement meant a lot. Hanford Dixon is respected and knows what it takes to succeed.Even with other quarterbacks around—like Flacco, Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel—Shedeur Sanders looks ready. Some believe he could compete for the No. 2 spot once full training begins in July.
Shedeur Sanders earns trust from Cleveland Browns staff and teammates
The Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke after the June workouts. He said, “I like everything about Shedeur. He’s smart, focused, and wants to get better.”
His teammates agree. Cornerback Greg Newsome II said Shedeur Sanders handles pressure well and called him “amazing.”
Shedeur Sanders signed a contract for four years, worth $4.6 million. That shows the team sees value in him. But nothing is certain yet. If the Cleveland Browns find themselves with another challenging season, they may look again for a new quarterback next year.For now, Shedeur Sanders keeps plugging away. He listens, learns, and leads.
