Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay has assured to ensure that passport appointment slots at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Karimnagar are increased from the present 250 to 500 daily.
He was speaking after inaugurating the new premises of the PSK along with Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar in Karimnagar on Monday.
Mr Sanjay said the PSK services were started in Karimnagar in 2014 owing to the initiative of Mr. Ponnam Prabhakar, the former Karimnagar MP. It was later upgraded into a full-fledged PSK in 2022, he added.
The Union Minister commended the efforts of the Regional Passport Officer, Hyderabad, J. Snehaja, in ensuring speedy processing and issuance of passports in the region.
