A woman from Hayathnagar has approached the Pahadishareef police alleging that she was duped of ₹50 lakh by a group of men who promised to resolve her land encroachment issue by claiming strong links with the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA).

According to the woman’s statement, she had approached HYDRAA earlier this year after a real estate firm allegedly encroached on her property by laying a road. While seeking help, she was introduced to individuals who projected themselves as having influence with the agency and assured her that her case could be fast-tracked if she paid money.

Trusting their claims, she reportedly handed over ₹20 lakh in cash at Madhapur in June, followed by another ₹30 lakh a few weeks later. However, no action was taken on her grievance despite repeated assurances.

Realising that she had been deceived, the woman lodged a complaint.

Pahadishareef police booked a case and launched an investigation to verify the allegations.
