In a shocking incident at Delhi Airport, a woman was caught attempting to smuggle 1 kg of gold hidden in her underwear. Customs officials said the case was among two recent instances that exposed unusually creative methods of gold smuggling.
On October 24, a female passenger arrived at Terminal-3 from Myanmar on flight 8M-620. Suspicion led customs officers to search her, resulting in the discovery of six gold biscuits concealed in her black underwear.

The gold, weighing 996.5 grams and valued at over Rs 1.17 crore, was seized, and the woman was taken into custody. She confessed to smuggling the gold from Myanmar to India.
In another incident on October 25-26, a male passenger arriving from Dubai on flight AI-996 was intercepted at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Authorities, who had been monitoring him since the flight gate, detained him at the green channel exit gate.

Upon inspection, 170 grams of gold worth approximately Rs 20 lakh was found hidden in a water bottle cap. The investigation continues as officers explore all aspects of the case.
