Kaur, who is an avid social media user, shared that her transformation from a size “3XL to a medium” in under a year was about getting the basics right. “The most asked question I get is, 'How did you lose so much weight suddenly?' But here’s the truth: it wasn’t sudden.

It had been eight months of showing up, making better choices, and trusting the process,” she said in a video shared on Instagram.

Unlike many weight loss stories that rely on extreme diets or grueling fitness regimes, Kaur’s approach was refreshingly simple. Her formula? “Move more and fuel the body better.”One workout that changed the game

Running has been miraculous in Kaur’s fitness journey. According to her, when she decided to start the transformation, she began walking.

What initially started as a 20-minute walk later turned into 20 km of running. The woman shared that in the initial days, even walking for 20 minutes was difficult. However, slowly and gradually, she grew fond of walking. “There’s something about stepping out in the sun and breathing fresh air that keeps me coming back,” she said.

She started with shorter distances but worked up to running a minimum of 10 kilometers daily.

“I aim for a minimum of 10km, and on good days, I push it to 15, 18 or even 20km,” she revealed. Running, which started as a fitness regime, soon became ‘therapeutic’ for her. She also added strength training to her routine, which was about 2 or three times a week. She also revealed that there were days when she couldn’t work out as much as she wanted, but what shines through is consistency. “Remember, progress isn't about doing it all, it's about doing something and sticking to it,” she said. What she eats in a day

diet

While Kaur didn’t stick to extreme diets, she ensured to eat a well-balanced and nutritious diet. She focused on learning how to fuel her body better. For instance, if she felt hungry in between, she would munch on some baby carrots and cream cheese. Similarly, she also eats a big breakfast. One of her favourite breakfast options is two sourdough toasts, with some salad, and scrambled tofu. This high-protein, high-fibre breakfast keeps her full and fueled for a long time.

For lunch, she would eat a hearty salad bowl topped with walnuts and vegan meat burger patties.

She also explained why she avoided going on extreme diets and instead focuses on nutritious food. “I've tried every extreme diet under the sun, only for it to end in a binge and further damage how I viewed food and my body. I finally began to heal when I stopped seeing food as the enemy and started viewing it as fuel to nourish my body instead,” she said.(Pic courtesy: Instagram/ Gurishq Kaur)NB: These views are not generic in nature.
