Women empowerment top priority of NDA, says PM

Patna: Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the NDA govt is committed to social justice and that women empowerment remains its top priority.Interacting with BJP women workers at various locations in Bihar through audio mode under the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’ programme, Modi urged them to ensure a record victory for the NDA and the forfeiture of the opposition candidates’ security deposits. He also took feedback from Dr Rekha Ram in Begusarai, Shalini Singh in Sandesh (Bhojpur), Neelam Chandravanshi in Aurangabad, Gunja Devi in Purnia and Vandana Patel in Khagaria on their booth-level preparations for the elections. Modi asked them to tell people about the development work carried out under the NDA govt at the grassroots level. The PM said the NDA govt was continuously working to make women’s lives easier and to empower them.

“Nitish ji has made 125 units of electricity free. This is greatly benefiting the people. We have made preparations to run metro rail in many cities of Bihar,” he said.Boosting their morale, Modi expressed confidence that the NDA would win with a huge majority. “The development taking place in Bihar has resonated with everyone, including the poor, Dalits, Mahadalits, backward and extremely backward classes. The people of Bihar have made up their minds to ensure the NDA’s victory by breaking all the records of the last 20 years.

Those who enforced jungle raj will suffer their most crushing defeat ever.

Only the NDA can develop Bihar,” he said.Modi said women thrive when there is good governance and law and order in the state. “That’s why the daughters of Bihar are now becoming job creators through self-employment. The Mudra Yojana has fulfilled the dreams of small businesses. The Jeevika Didi and dairy schemes have empowered women and made them self-reliant,” he said.During his interaction, Modi also referred to the free ration given to the poor since the Corona period and said women should defeat those who had insulted Chhathi Maiya and kept Bihar under jungle raj. “Their security deposits should be forfeited,” he said. The PM laughed when a woman said the NDA would win 225 seats in the 2025 elections. He also asked for feedback on the Rs 10,000 transferred into the bank accounts of 1.40 crore Jeevika Didis under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojna.

Dr Rekha said, “Women will vote more than men this time. They say the double-engine govt has changed their lives. I have met many women who tell me about the govt schemes for them.”Reminding them of the RJD’s rule in Bihar, Modi said women had once feared to step out during the “jungle raj.” “But under the NDA, girls now work fearlessly on night shifts in hospitals, railway stations and many other places. They are determined to never allow the return of jungle raj. That’s why the perpetrators of jungle raj are busy telling all kinds of lies to the women of Bihar,” he said, in an oblique reference to opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s promise of a one-time transfer of Rs 30,000 to women if voted to power.
