‘Wore New Clothes & Shoes, Didn’t Look Tense’: Raj Kushwaha’s Sister Says He Came Home 2 Days Ago

Raja Raghuvanshi murdered in Meghalaya: “I last saw my brother two days ago. He wore new clothes, shoes saying he wanted to go to the temple and left,” Raj Kushwaha’s sister said

Raj Kushwaha, one of the accused in Raja Raghuvanshi murder case which the police suspect was planned by his wife Sonam, had visited his home two days ago.

“I last saw my brother two days ago. He came home around 6pm. He wore new clothes and shoes saying he wanted to go to the temple and left. Around 7pm, my mother called to check on him. He said he didn’t go to the temple as he got late," Raj Kushwaha’s sister told ANI amid the sobs.

“Vicky and Raj both are my brothers. They can never do something like this. My brother Raj did not go anywhere. You can ask the people at his office. My only demand is that my brother should be released. He is not involved in the murder. My brother is innocent…," she said.

Raj Kushwaha’s mother told ANI, “My son cannot do anything like this. He is just 20… He is my everything…My son worked at Sonam’s brother’s factory. He is being falsely accused. I request the government to prove him innocent. He is a kind who would even give away his shoes to the homeless."

Kushwaha is among the four arrested in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. Raghuvanshi’s sister, in one of the videos on her social media handle, claimed that Kushwaha was there, consoling her father soon after Raja’s body had arrived. Kushwaha is suspected to be Sonam’s lover.

Raja and Sonam, who got married on May 11 in Indore, went to Meghalaya on their honeymoon. He was found dead in a gorge near Weisawdong Falls in East Khasi Hills district on June 2, 10 days after the couple went missing.

The murder took a sensational turn when Raghuvanshi’s wife, Sonam, was held by Meghalaya Police along with her three alleged aides, Akash Rajput, 19, Vishal Singh Chauhan, 22, and Raj Singh Kushwaha.
