The latest episode of the WWE RAW came live for Indian and global audiences from the Honda Centre in Anaheim, California, on Monday, October 27. The action-packed event saw multiple exciting entrances and intense battles, including the arrival of CM Punk and Jey Uso ahead of their World Heavyweight Championship clash and the No.1 contender’s match for the Intercontinental Championship between Penta and Rusev. Here’s how all the results at this week’s Monday Night Raw panned out.
CM Punk-Jey Uso Come Face To Face
CM Punk and Jey Uso kicked off the exciting episode of Raw by confronting each other ahead of their much-anticipated World Heavyweight Championship clash at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The two wrestlers tried to get under each other’s skins.
While Uso insisted he wasn’t listening to any of his close allies and wouldn’t hold any bars facing Punk, the veteran spoke about Uso throwing his own brother, Jimmy, over the top rope last week and asked how far he would be willing to escalate matters during their battle at Salt Lake? “I need to be world heavyweight champion like I need air in my lungs. Screw you, Punk!" Uso said before exiting the ring and closing off the segment.
Penta Faces Rusev
Later on, Penta and Rusev battled out to achieve the No.1 contender’s tag to claim Dominik Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship. Penta enjoyed an upper hand initially before Rusev flattened him on the ring steps and seized control. Hailed as the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev tried to exert his dominance by catching his opponent mid-flight with a Machka Kick. Then Penta retaliated with a Penta Driver. Neither man was able to keep the other down for too long before the contest ended bizarrely, resulting in a double disqualification after an interruption from El Grande Americano and his cronies.
Roxanne Perez Beats Nikki Bella
An intense women’s singles encounter saw Roxanne Perez take on Nikki Bella. Perez played aggressively from the beginning and targeted Bella’s head and neck in an attempt to exploit her previous injury. But her Hall of Fame opponent fought the pain valiantly and fended her off eventually. Bella even overcame an intervention from Raquel Rodriguez and seemed in a good position to impose herself. However, just then, Perez hit her into the turnbuckle and delivered Pop Rox to secure her victory.
Bron Breakker Overcomes LA Knight
Resuming their rivalry, Breakker and Knight faced each other in an enthralling tussle where fortunes shifted back and forth between the two powerful wrestlers. While Breakker dominated the initial bits of the contest, Knight fought back hard and regained control of the proceedings. Having kept Bronson Reed at bay near the ringside, Knight countered a gorilla press slam and turned it into a reverse DDT for a two. He then scaled ropes for his trademark elbow drop. But then, Breakker got up and dodged the flying Knight and broke him with a decisive spear for his triumph.
JD McDonagh Hammers Sheamus
On his path of vengeance against The Judgement Day following his elimination from the No.1 contender’s Battle Royal, Sheamus came face-to-face with JD McDonagh. Keeping aside an early distraction from Finn Bálor, Sheamus mounted a comeback and almost sealed his victory with a count to two. Ultimately, though, Bálor’s presence proved a huge helping hand for McDonagh. He took advantage of the shillelagh that his partner caught Sheamus with and delivered a Spanish Fly from the top against his opponent for the win.
