The episode was marked by the prolonged contract signing segment between Rhodes and Orton, who will square off for the title at Wrestlemania, as the latter assaulted the champion.

The latest episode of WWE SmackDown aired on the 13th of March from the Mortgage Matchup Centre in Phoenix, Arizona, and offered up multiple must-watch moments, including the prolonged contract signing segment between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, who will square off for the title at Wrestlemania 42.

The night kicked off with Drew McIntyre, who lost the Undisputed WWE title to Cody Rhodes expressing his frustration over the same as things heated up with GM Nick Aldis coming out, resulting in an argument before McIntyre decided he had had enough and decided to quit and walk away.

Uncle Howdy and Erick Rowan Vs Solo Sikoa and Talla Tonga

A bout that could have gone either way was a good popcorn watch as Nikki Cross got to the sacred lantern which came as a distraction to Sikoa, who was subsequently put to the canvas by Howdy’s Sister Abigail and register the win. An irate Tonga hit back at Howdy to retrieve the lantern.

Jade Cargill Vs Michigan

The non-title match was every bit as exciting as it would have been with the prize on the line, as Cargill survived a brave Michigan offensive to turn the fight around with a Jaded to close out the bout in her favour, before Rhea Ripley decided to come out, only to watch Cargill walk away.

Return of the Bellas, Nia Jax and Lash Legend Vs Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss

The champions Nia and Lash were shocked to witness the return of the Bella Twins, who announced that they were throwing their names in for the WWE Women’s tag team championship ahead of the holders fight against Flair and Bliss. The match, which turned out to be exciting had to be cut short as it ended in a DQ with Brie Bella assaulting Jax.

R-Truth and Damien Priest Vs Los Garza

Angel and Breto of Los Garza put up a fight in the high-flying matchup, but the duo of R-Truth and Priest endured the onslaught to come up trumps with the duo hitting their opponents with their finishers to close out the bout.

Tiffany Straton Vs Kiana James

Chelsea Green, Alba Fyre and Giulia were on the sidelines for the fixture which evoked emotion from the WWE Universe before Straton evaded a big boot from James, which connected with Giulia, who went on to take out Green and Fyre as Straton picked her moment to hit the Prettiest Moonsalt ad close out the egagement.

Jacob Fatu Vs Trick Williams

McIntyre, who had surprised the Universe with his initial appearance and walk out earlier in the night, returned to take it out on Fatu when the ref wasn’t looking, seting Williams up for a Trick shot which closed out the bout. McIntyre sent the episode into exit with a Claymore on Fatu.
