'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' 16th March 2026 written update: Meher vows to ruin Aryan's wedding

The 16th March 2026 episode of 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' opened with Meher watching a video of Armaan and Abhira. Even through their fighting, their feelings for each other were visible, and that was exactly what was eating Meher up inside.

Krish noticed she was upset and asked what was wrong. Meher told him she could see Armaan getting emotionally attached to Abhira again, and she could not let that happen. Krish tried to talk some sense into her and asked her to at least wait until Aryan's wedding was over before doing anything. Meher refused.She declared that Armaan belonged to her and she was ready to go to any length to get him back, even if it meant ruining Aryan's wedding.

Krish pointed out that Aryan had done nothing wrong, and creating chaos before his wedding could destroy everything. Meher did not care. She said she did not care if someone else's home broke or hearts were shattered. Krish walked away after hearing this.Meher then called Maira and told her about Aryan's wedding. Maira was confused about how appropriate would it be to come since Armaan had already said no. Meher told her not to worry as she would handle Armaan herself.

Maira agreed to it but was still unsure about Armaan's reaction.

Maira and Mukti hatch a plan

Maira came up with her own idea. She decided to invite Mukti and her mother to the wedding as well, hoping it would be a chance to bring their parents closer. Mukti was not convinced and questioned whether Abhira would just randomly agree to attend her uncle's wedding. Maira believed it was worth a shot. Mukti then suggested Maira could personally go and invite Abhira.Meanwhile, Mukti got to know that Abhira had come to visit her. It was supposed to be a phone call day, but Abhira had not received any call and could not wait any longer, so she came herself.Mukti noticed Abhira looking around and asked if she was searching for someone. Abhira quickly denied it. She handed Mukti ice cream and food and quietly said she should share it with Maira since Maira loved ice cream. She also told Mukti that whenever Maira felt low, she should be there for her.

Abhira refuses, but the longing stays

Mukti then stopped Abhira from leaving and told her that Maira wanted to invite her to Aryan's wedding. Abhira was shocked. Mukti asked why she was reacting that way, saying it was just a wedding. Abhira said she was not free and that exams were coming up, so Maira would not be allowed to attend either. Mukti then accidentally let slip the real plan, revealing that she and Maira had decided to use the wedding as an opportunity to bring Abhira and Armaan together.

Abhira was stunned. She scolded Mukti and told her to focus on her studies. She said love could not be forced and that marriages were made in heaven, not planned by children. She also said she was happy in her life and did not need anyone. After saying all of this, Abhira left without meeting Maira. But before going, she stood at a distance and quietly watched Maira, getting emotional.Mukti later told Maira that she had accidentally given away their plan.

Maira was shocked to hear it. Both of them then decided to listen to their parents and stay back at the hostel to prepare for their exams.

Back at the Poddar house, the family gathered and showed Aryan's childhood pics. Righto in that moment, Abhira found a window to escape and she quietly tried to leave. Manisha spotted her and asked her to join them. Abhira hesitated and said the whole family was together, and she did not fit in anymore.

Kaveri and Manisha both insisted. Then Disha laughed loudly and jokingly mentioned that Damyanti had told her not to laugh so loudly.

Hearing this, Abhira burst out laughing too. Manisha, Kajal, Tanya, and Kaveri all joined in. It was a genuinely warm moment. At the same time, Armaan went to the kitchen looking for Abhira but could not find her. Vidya taunted him, saying the person he was looking for had left him for a stranger a long time ago.

Armaan walked away without saying anything.In that cheerful moment with the family, both Armaan and Abhira quietly drifted into their own thoughts.
