Yogi Vemana University (YVU) in Kadapa secured top positions in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF 2025) released by the Ministry of Education.
The varsity has been placed in the 51-100 rank slot for two consecutive years among the 500 plus universities and institutes of national importance, which reflects the collective efforts of the teaching, non-teaching staff, research scholars, said the Vice-Chancellor Allam Srinivasa Rao.
“Established in 2006, the YVU is competing with older universities like the JNTU Anantapur, Sri Krishna Devaraya University and Sri Padmavati Women’s University (SPMVV), Tirupati, which is a sign of progress,” Mr. Rao added.
With YVU faculty members receiving the prestigious Raman Research Fellowship and DAAD Fellowship, many have engaged in research collaborations with institutes in Germany, the U.K. and the U.S.A..
Similarly, the varsity has been allocated ₹20 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA), of which ₹10.5 crore would be used to construct an academic building and auditorium. The foundation stone for the building was recently laid by HRD Minister Nara Lokesh.
The varsity also received ₹4 crore under the two phases of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), enabling the faculty to undertake high-end research projects, Mr. Rao said.
