Youth electrocuted while erecting tent during gram panchayat election campaign in Nirmal district

A youth was electrocuted and another suffered injuries when they accidentally came in contact with a live wire while erecting a tent as part of gram panchayat election campaign in Sirpalle village of Kubeer mandal in Nirmal district on Sunday morning.

Elections for Sirpalle gram panchayat are scheduled to take place in the third phase on December 17, sources said.

The deceased was identified as Naveen, 25, a resident of Sirpalle.

Another person from the same village suffered an electric shock in the incident. He was rushed to a hospital in Nirmal.

The Kubeer Police registered a case and took up investigation.
