Congress Working Committee member and former APCC president Gidugu Rudra Raju on Sunday (August 24) alleged that YSR Congress Party had become an unofficial alliance partner of NDA and it was again proved with its support to NDA Vice President candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan.

YSRCP MPs and other leaders were unable to digest the decision of the former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as they all anticipated the party’s support to INDIA Bloc nominee Justice B.Sudarshan Reddy who is an authority on Indian Constitution in the backdrop of ‘vote theft’ and EVM manipulation episodes, he said. Mr. Rudra Raju who formally greeted Justice Sudarshan Reddy in New Delhi spoke to The Hindu here while hoping that YSRCP would change its stand and extend support to INDIA Bloc nominees to protect the democratic system in India.

“It is high time for all political parties to extend their support to INDIA Bloc which is keen to protect the democratic system in the country. The Constitution (One Hundred and Thirtieth Amendment) Bill-2025 introduced by Narendra Modi government would be detrimental for the NDA alliance parties too since it was aimed to control all political parties under the guise of criminal cases and imprisonment of Chief Ministers and Ministers,” said Mr. Rudra Raju.

“The discussions in Rajya Sabha would be done on important Bills when Justice Sudarshan Reddy becomes the Chairman of the Upper House. The detailed discussions on such controversial Bills will expose the motive behind the draconian laws which would threaten the Indian democratic setup,“ he said. “YSR Congress Party, Telugu Desam Party and Bharath Rashtra Samithi should extend their support to Justice Sudarshan Reddy and teach a lesson to the BJP which threatened all political parties with introduction of controversial Bill in Parliament,” he added.
