Born in Assam as Jibon Borthakur

According to Filmibeat, Zubeen Garg was born in the Indian state of Assam on November 18, 1972. As per the website, he was named after renowned Indian conductor of Western classical music, Zubin Mehta. His father was a magistrate, while his mother was a singer, dancer, and actor.

First album at the age of 19

The late singer made his debut in the music industry officially after he released his first album in the year 1992.

He was just 19 at that time. Titled 'Anamika', the album became a hit in the whole Northeast of India. This changed a lot of things for the Assamese music scene. Later, he dropped albums titled 'Maya', 'Asha', and 'Pakhi'.
