Bhopal: Power consumers continued to face frequent electricity disruptions in June despite the onset of the monsoon, with internal discom data showing 21,324 unplanned power cuts across Bhopal— averaging nearly 30 outages every hour, or one every two minutes.Of these, 9,928 outages lasted more than five minutes, translating into one prolonged disruption every four minutes and 20 seconds. The June figures mark a sharp increase over May, when the city recorded 14,974 power cuts, including 6,896 outages lasting over five minutes, according to internal feeder-wise reports accessed by TOI.The feeder-wise report revealed that Kidzee DOM feeder in the Kolar area recorded the highest number of trippings at 182, followed by Bairagarh Kala.Ironically, while consumers across several residential and commercial localities continued to battle repeated outages and voltage fluctuations, a number of feeders supplying key govt establishments again reported zero trippings during June. These included the Collectorate feeder and several designated feeders under the North Division, highlighting a stark contrast in supply reliability. Several feeders that figured among the worst performers in May continued to witness a high number of disruptions in June.Nabi Bagh registered 97 trippings, while Vishwakarma Nagar recorded 66 interruptions during the month. Meanwhile, Malikhedi had 102 trippings on one feeder and 99 on another.
