The 18-day-long strike by the Film Federation employees was finally called off after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy intervened and paved way for an amicable solution in the presence of the Labour Officer.
Shootings came to a standstill for the last 18 days as the Film Industry Employees’ Federation called for a strike, demanding a 30% wage hike, and the Film Producers unwilling to pay the demanded hike.
Chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, Dil Raju led the talks held in the presence of Additional Labour Commissioner, Gangadhar at the Labour Office on Thursday. Following discussions, the federation agreed to a 22.5% wage hike against its initial demand of 35%. The revised agreement provides a 15% increase in the first year itself, 2.5% in the second year followed by an additional 5% hike in the third year.
Mr. Dil Raju said the Chief Minister directed him to settle the issue, taking into confidence all the groups. He said CM’s vision is to transform Hyderabad into a hub for international film shoots and assured full government support to the industry. With the settlement reached, film shootings across Telangana are set to resume from Friday, bringing relief to producers, artistes, and thousands of workers affected by the deadlock.
