On Friendship Day, a shocking case of personal revenge came to light in Surat after police raided a hotel room at the ‘Weekend Address’ following a tip-off about an illegal liquor party. While Gujarat strictly prohibits alcohol consumption, what caught attention was that the police raid at the hotel was based on a personal tip-off, leading to the bust.

The police arrested four men and two women, aged between 23 and 25, for indulging in a liquor party. All six were taken into custody.

According to a report by The Times of India, the tip-off to the police came from the father-in-law of one of the women at the party. He informed the Surat Police Control Room that his daughter-in-law was celebrating with friends in room number 443 of the ‘Weekend Address’ hotel. Acting on the information, Dumas Police conducted a raid and seized liquor bottles from the room. Two women, both artists, and four men, identified as professional businessmen, were taken into custody

According to the police, all the accused were found in an inebriated state at the time of the raid. A half-filled liquor bottle and four glasses were seized from the hotel room, which had been rented to celebrate Friendship Day. All six individuals were taken to the civil hospital for blood tests, where the presence of alcohol was confirmed in each of them.

According to the police, the caller’s daughter-in-law had been facing issues in her marriage and was not on good terms with her husband. In an apparent attempt to “teach her a lesson," the father-in-law allegedly followed her, learned about the liquor party, and informed the police, leading to the raid and her subsequent arrest.
