As many as 28 students from a government-run girls’ hostel in Telangana were taken to hospital after they reportedly fell sick due to suspected food poisoning.

The incident took place at the Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ School hostel in Regode mandal of Medak district.

According to Regode Police, the students had eaten boiled eggs served at the hostel on Wednesday night. Soon after the meal, several girls began complaining of vomiting and discomfort. As their condition worsened, they were rushed to a nearby government hospital for treatment.

Police officials said that 13 students have been declared stable, while 15 others remain under medical observation. Doctors are closely monitoring the girls to ensure there are no further complications.

Authorities are looking into the matter to determine the exact cause of the illness.
